The irony is that in Europe the big money kills football instead of making it more popular. 30 years ago the european leagues relied on 90+% local players. Now the majority are foreigners, which means that the more the money poured into a league, the less popular the game is among the local kids.

definitely not Italy's year. Although the ref made some very dubious calls in Belgium's favour Italy's future seemed uninspired and lacklustre. I expected much more from Giovinco, Rossi and compagnia bella.

thought it'd be an one way game, so didn't bother watching it. Seems like I should have done. City most probably got too much carried away after Milan game. This should serve to ground them. i don't doubt that they'll win on aggregate.
