FC Girondins de Bordeaux playmaker Johan Micoud has announced he will not be playing at the club next season.

"The decision has been made by the coach [Laurent Blanc]," the 34-year-old said. "It's tough to accept but he has been fair with my by telling me now that I'm no longer required." Micoud returned to Bordeaux for a second spell when he signed from Werder Bremen in 2006 and has appeared in 61 Ligue 1 games scoring 10 goals.
