LONDON (AFP) - Italian side Juventus, re-established in Serie A following promotion, are set to make an approach for Chelsea's England midfielder Frank Lampard, media reports said Wednesday.
Lampard has 14 months left on his contract at Stamford Bridge but has been linked with moves abroad in the past and Juve boss Claudio Ranieri knows the midfield star well having signed him from West Ham during his spell in charge of the Blues.
Juve director Gianluca Pessotto admits Lampard is a player the Old Lady has admired from afar.
"He is an excellent player," Pessotto told English tabloid The Sun, hinting a bid might transpire at season's end.
"I feel we will be able to buy players of his class in the summer," Pessotto said.
Lampard has yet to commit himself to a new Chelsea deal and could leave for an estimated 10 million dollars.
