Blackburn Rovers captain Ryan Nelsen is pleased to have suffered no ill-effects in his first appearance in ten weeks. The New Zealand international played the full 90 minutes in the 0-0 draw against Reading at the Madejski Stadium, having sat out the previous ten weeks with a troublesome hamstring injury.
The 30-year-old defender had not played for Blackburn since the 1-1 draw against Middlesbrough on 19th January, but he was influential in helping his side to a clean sheet and a valuable away point on Saturday.
Nelsen said: "It was my first 90 minutes in a while, so it was really good to come through it, and we got a clean sheet as well, which was really pleasing. I just wish we'd got the three points as well, although I suppose one point isn't a disaster."
