Rangers moved six points clear of Celtic FC in the Scottish Premier League title race after beating their Glasgow rivals 1-0 at Ibrox in a Saturday lunch-time kick-off.
Midfielder Kevin Thomson was the match-winner in the second Old Firm derby of the season, scoring in the 44th minute.
Walter Smith's men, who had also prevailed in the teams' first meeting, now have a substantial lead over the title-holders and a game in hand. However, Rangers must negotiate two more derbies, both at Celtic Park, before they can finally end the challenge of Gordon Strachan's side
