BORDEAUX (AFP) - French First Division highflyers Bordeaux sold Colombian international striker Edixon Perea to Brazilian championship outfit Porto Alegre on Monday.

The 23-year-old known as 'The Pitbull' signed a four year contract with the Brazilian side after failing to win a regular place at Bordeaux since joining from Atletico Nacional in the summer of 2005.

Perea, capped 19 times at international level, scored three times in 38 appearances over two years under former Bordeaux coach Ricardo, but this season since Laurent Blanc took over he has played just 32 minutes of a UEFA Cup match.
