DORTMUND, Germany (AFP) - Thomas Doll was on Friday rewarded for saving former European champions Borussia Dortmund from relegation by being handed a new two-year deal which keeps him at the Bundesliga side until 2010.
Former German international Doll took over at the six-time German champions in March 2007 and kept them in the top flight.
At the moment, Dortmund are in 10th place with their progress hampered by the absence through injury of striker Alexander Frei.
"I'm very happy to continue my work at Dortmund," said 41-year-old Doll. "I am convinced that we can go on to achieve something."
