LONDON (AFP) - Reading striker Leroy Lita launched a scathing attack on Steve Coppell after the Royals manager questioned his commitment to the club.
Coppell has claimed England Under-21 international Lita refused to play in Reading's FA Cup match against Tottenham earlier this month because he didn't want to be cup-tied in case a big club made a bid for him.
Lita admitted he is considering a move away from Reading but he denied telling Coppell he wouldn't play at White Hart Lane.
"The gaffer has come out and said I didn't want to play at Spurs, which I wasn't happy with at all," Lita told the Daily Express. "I didn't say I didn't want to play. It was frustrating and a bit personal. I didn't like that.
"I said to him if I am going to move on he might as well play the lads that are here otherwise I will be cup-tied.
"I don't know if I will be at Reading beyond this transfer window. If something comes along and and it is good for me to move on, I'm going to. I have big ambitions. If that's not here then they shouldn't stop me moving on."
