PARIS (AFP) - Claude Le Roy, who took Ghana to third place at the African Nations Cup, was handed a new contract on Friday with the task of leading the Black Stars to the 2010 World Cup finals.
Le Roy's agent Gael Mahe told AFP that the new deal is until June 30, 2010 and replaces the Frenchman's previous contract which was due to expire on June 30 this year.
"I would be very proud to stay but we will have to see," said Le Roy after his team lost 1-0 to Cameroon in the semi-finals of the Nations Cup which they hosted.
Le Roy has been in charge of the Ghana national team since 2006 and his next mission is to lead the team to the 2010 African Nations Cup in Angola as well as the World Cup later the same year in South Africa.
