Saint-Etienne are up to fifth place in Ligue 1 after two early Bafetimbi Gomis goals gave them a 2-0 home win against RC Lens.

The 22-year-old scored on 13 and 15 minutes to boost St-Etienne's hopes of qualifying for Europe while Lens remain 17th, above Paris Saint-Germain FC and RC Strasbourg only on goal difference.
