ST PETERSBURG, Apr 4 (SW) - Possibly the biggest surprise of the first leg games in the UEFA Cup quarter finals was Zenit St. Petersburg's crushing of Bayer Leverkusen.
The match, played in Germany, left the hosts helpless and the visitors walked away with a 1-4 victory.
While Zenit may already prepare for a spot in the semi finals, manager Dick Advocaat took a moment to comment on the performance.
"We wanted to play like the home team on this good pitch. And we succeeded in doing so. Even the cheap goal we gave away to make it 1-1 did not throw us out of our stride," according to the former Rangers and Holland coach.
"When a team like CSKA Moscow can make it to the final of the UEFA Cup, then so can we."
