LONDON (AFP) - Carlos Tevez is to undergo a medical next Tuesday at Old Trafford with a view to completing a move to Premiership champions Manchester United, his advisor has said.

The Argentina striker has been at the centre of a controversial contract dispute which has delayed his proposed move from United's Premiership rivals West Ham.

But, in a statement released Thursday, Tevez's advisor Kia Joorabchian said: "On Tuesday Carlos Tevez will fly to Britain for a medical at Old Trafford as part of the process of his transfer to Manchester United.

"It is our understanding that all parties involved in the transfer are now satisfied the administrative issues will be settled in the next few days.

"We will not be adding further to this statement at this time."

As well as United and West Ham, MSI - the company headed by Joorabchian - which claims to own Tevez's economic rights would appear to be the other 'party' involved in the proposed transfer.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson told Sky Sports: "I think we have got the player - we think he is our player and are very hopeful.

"The Premier League seem to be holding back, I think they probably want to make sure everything is transparent.

"We want that to be the case - we don't want a bad taste surrounding the transfer, we want it done cleanly," the Scot added.

"But as far as our club are concerned, everyone was excited when we thought we could get Tevez.

"He's exciting, his form is fantastic and at 23 he can get better - I think he kept West Ham up."

West Ham were fined rather than docked points by the Premier League following the initial row over whether they, rather than Joorabchian, were in sole charge of the player's contract.

Relegated Sheffield United are still considering legal action over the Premier League's failure to deduct points.

Tevez's proposed move to United has stalled due to the Premier League's insistence that West Ham, not Joorabchian, must receive the bulk of the reported 30 million pounds fee.
