DORTMUND, Germany (AFP) - Mid-table Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund received more bad news on Saturday when it emerged goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller looks set to miss the next three months with a shoulder injury.

The 27-year-old shot-stopper has been carrying the shoulder injury since September, but had played 14 of the 17 German league matches this season before undergoing surgery on Saturday to fix the damaged bicep ligament.

The club expect to be without their goalkeeper for the first three months of 2008 with the Bundesliga set to resume in early February.

Reserve goalkeeper Marc Ziegler will deputise with the side 10th in the league on 21 points.
