LONDON (AFP) - Australian defender Adrian Leijer has penned a three-year deal with Premiership side Fulham from A-League club Melbourne Victory, the English club said on Friday.

The transfer fee has not been disclosed for the 21-year-old who was voted A-League Young Player of the Year.

Leijer is the Fulham boss Lawrie Sanchez's ninth summer signing ahead of the new season which begins on Saturday.

"It's just a fantastic opportunity for me to join a club in the English Premier League," Leijer said earlier in the week.

The Cottagers begin their Premier League campaign on Sunday with an away trip to Arsenal.
