Serbian striker Nikola Zigic has signed a five year contract with Valencia.

Zigic makes the move from Racing Santander in a deal worth €15 000 000.

Last year he joined Racing Santander from Red Star Belgrade. Whilst at Racing he was the leading scorer at the club.

He was voted Serbian Footballer of 2006 after helping Red Star Belgrade to the domestic league and cup double.

The Serbian is likely to be the preferred striking partner for David Villa. This races questions about the former Liverpool striker Fernando Morientes.
