LEVERKUSEN, Germany (AFP) - Former Russian international striker Dmitri Bulykin has signed for Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen from Dynamo Moscow, the German club's sporting director Rudi Voller confirmed.

"He has signed a one-year contract with his salary linked to his performance," Voller told German daily Bild.

Capped 15 times for the national side, Bulykin, 27, is bidding to kick-start his career after unsuccessful attempts to break into the English Premier League.

He has played for Dynamo since 2001 after previously playing at Lokomotiv Moscow from 1997-2000.

He is the second forward signed by Leverkusen for this season after Theofanis Gekas, the Bundesliga's top scorer for 2006-2007, from Bochum.

The Greek international has only scored one goal so far this season, as the club have four points from three games.
