BRUSSELS, Sep 30 (Sw) - Two early goals by Kevin Vandenbergh saw Genk past champions and league leaders Anderlecht: 1-4. The result means Genk take over the top spot in the Jupiler league.

Genk cashed in on the first chance they were offered. Kevin Vandenbergh found the net after Soetaers and Vrancken spliced the Anderlecht defence in the 2nd minute.

A mere 7 minutes later Vandenbergh bagged his second goal. He rounded off Vrancken cross powerfully, the second chance of the match for Genk.

The two early goals had a numbing effect on Anderlecht. Only fifteen minutes before the break did the team regain its composure. Frutos had a good chance before half-time.

Anderlecht came out of the dressing room with resolve. Genk goalkeeper Bailly had to intervene a couple of times, but was powerless in the 65th minute. He failed to hold on to a Vanderhaege shot, allowing substitute Boussoufa to score from the rebound.

It was a Genk substitute however to take away all Anderlecht's illusions. Ivan Ljubojevic came on for Vanderhaege on minute 74, and scored twelve minutes later from a break.

Ljubojevic worsened Anderlecht's torment a minute before time, when he thundered a fourth Genk goal past Zitka.
