ADELAIDE, Sept 29 (SW) – In the wake of Benito Carbone’s four - match signing for Sydney FC, it was announced here today that the forty year old former Brazilian striker, Romario will be joining Adelaide United for the customary four match guest period.

Like Sydney FC, Adelaide United are currently in Australia’s A – League.

His will make his debut on the 25th of November away against Central Coast Mariners.

In his illustrious career Romario de Souza Faria, born on 29 January 1966 in Rio de Janeiro, was named FIFA Player of the World in 1994 after having been runner up the previous year.

On the 28th of January 2006, one day before his fortieth birthday he scored his 950th goal.

He has the 1000 goals scored by the legendary Pele in his sights.
