AMSTERDAM, Sep 24 (SW) - Ajax Amsterdam earned three valuable points at the Arena on Sunday, beating NEC Nijmegen 2-0 with goals from Kenneth Perez.

The hosts had been the stronger side in the first half, but NEC came close to opening the score just before the break. Eagles had only keeper Stekelenburg to beat, but failed.

Danish midfielder Kenneth Perez broke the deadlock on the hour mark, scoring from a corner kick.

Perez would add another in the 82nd minute to earn Ajax a 2-0 win.
