GLASGOW, Nov 8 (SW) - A day after Celtic were taken down in the Scottish League Cup, Rangers and Hearts followed suit with losses to St. Johnstone and Hibernian respectively.

Rangers - St. Johnstone 0-2
It was a stunning scene at Ibrox as Division One side St. Johnstone held Rangers scoreless in the first half, and then went in front on 52 minutes through Steven Milne.

Rangers fans were even more stunned in the 68th minute when Milne struck again to extend the visitors' advantage to 2-0 and they then put on a fine defensive performance the rest of the way to move into the semi-finals.

Hibernian - Hearts 1-0
Hibs may now be the favorite to win the trophy after they took down local rivals Hearts in a narrow encounter in Edinburgh.

A solitary Robert Jones goal in the 32nd minute lifted Hibs to victory over their visitors to ensure the top three clubs in Scotland wouldn't see the final four of the competition.

Hibs and St. Johnstone now join Falkirk and Kilmarnock in the penultimate round of the competition.
