MANCHESTER, Nov 8 (SW) - Sir Alex Ferguson said that he is not too concerned about his side's unexpected League Cup exit against bottom Championship side Southend.

Sounding philosophical about the result, the Manchester United boss said that these things do happen in football.

He added that he doesn't want to read too much into the result as they are currently on top in the Premier League and are likely to finish at the top of their group in the UEFA Champions League.

Sir Alex went on to say that as long as the players, who were obviously disappointed at the result, have learnt something, then it's fine.

It will be back to work as usual for the team today as they prepare for their match against Blackburn this weekend.
