NANCY, Nov 5 (SW) - The surprise package of Ligue 1, Nancy, moved up to second in the table with a 2-1 victory over Bordeaux on Sunday.
Sébastien Puygrenier gave the home side the lead after 15 minutes when he tucked home a header by Pascal Berenguer after a free kick by Benjamin Gavanon created the chance.
But Bordeaux pulled level 17 minutes later as Jean-Claude Darcheville took a ball and fooled Nancy goalkeeper Gennaro Bracigliano, sending the sides to the break at 1-1.
Nancy, though, would reclaim the advantage in the 55th minute when Moncef Zerka slotted home a penalty following a foul in the area on Issiar Dia.
Nancy, who had a respectable showing in last week's loss to Lyon, are nine points adrift of the leaders, while the rest of the European spots are quite cluttered.
