MONTBÉLIARD, Nov 18 (SW) - The weekend action in Ligue 1 got off to a less-than-spectacular start as second-placed side Lille were held to a 0-0 draw away to Sochaux on Saturday.
Lille nearly had the lead in the 19th minute when Yohan Cabaye took a short pass from Jean Makoun and fired at Teddy Richert's goal, but the Sochaux goalkeeper did well to keep it out.
Later on, in the second half, Kevin Mirallas fired a free kick just centimeters wide of the target for Lille, and the Belgian striker narrowly missed wide with a header in the 71st minute.
But the biggest miss, however, came from Sochaux in the 75th minute when Karim Ziani played a nice one-two with Mickaël Isabey and found himself open in front of goal, but somehow fired wide of the target.
