MILAN/ATHENS, Nov 1 (SW) - AC Milan are close to earning a spot in the next round after a convincing win over Anderlecht, while AEK Athens achieved their first Champions League win ever at the expense of Lille.

AC Milan - RSC Anderlecht 4-1
The Italian home side needed just seven minutes to open the score. Gilardino was brought down in the Belgian penalty area and Kaká's following spotkick was unstoppable for the goalkeeper.

And in the 22nd minute, Kaká would add a second. The Brazilian received the ball back after a combination with fellow countryman Cafu and scored from about nine meters.

Kaká continued to do well and added a third in the 56th minute to complete his hat-trick. The playmaker struck from outside the penalty area and the ball sailed into the far corner.

The Belgians got one back five minutes later, when Roland Juhász beat goalkeeper Dida to give his side some hope, although the task of earning at least one point still seemed impossible.

Milan restored the gap in the 88th minute. Alberto Gilardino collected the ball just inside the penalty area and beat the goalkeeper to set the score to 4-1.

AEK Athens - Lille OSC 1-0
After 22 minutes in the Greek capital, the visitors suffered a major blow as Efstathios Tavlaridis fouled Hetemaj which earned him his second yellow card.

Despite losing their Greek player, Lille were the dominant side in the first half and created most chances, albeit with no goals as result.

The hosts were the ones to break the deadlock in the 74th minute however. Nikolaos Liberopoulos delivered a powerful strike on goal and goalkeeper Sylva was left without a chance.

AEK held on for what would be their first win ever in the Champions League, and may still manage to fight their way to the next round.

Milan have ten points from four games and are practically certain of advancing. Lille have five points followed by AEK with four. Anderlecht earned two points so far.
