ROME, May 29 (SW) - Udinese forward Vincenzo Iaquinta has revealed he is looking to join a larger club, in order to advance his career.

The 26-year-old joined Udinese in 2000 and has been selected for the Italian World Cup squad, but feels his time at the Stadio Friuli is coming to an end, saying “After many years in the same team, every player wants to take the next step up in level and join a great side”.

“It’s true that I have a contract at Udinese until 2010, but I do want to play for an important club in my career,” he added.

Roma have emerged as a possible future club for Iaquinta, as he managed to score 13 goals whilst Roma coach Luciano Spalletti managed him at Udinese in 2004/05 season. The striker enjoyed his time with Spalleti, stating “I worked well with Spalletti for three years and we have a good relationship.”

Udinese may consider selling their frontman, but have received no offers so far.
