Germany: Kaiserslautern ease relegation worries with big win

KAISERSLAUTERN, Mar 26 (SW) - Although still in the drop zone, Kaiserslautern got closer to safety with a big win at home over Borussia Mönchengladbach on Sunday while Arminia Bielefeld and Nürnberg played a goalless draw.

Kaiserslautern - Borussia Mönchengladbach 3-0

Halil Altintop's 15th goal of the season fired Kaiserslautern into the lead on 32 minutes and the lead was up to 2-0 as Altintop struck again, much to the pleasure of the home fans at the Fritz-Walter Stadion.

Ervin Skela made the lead 3-0 in the 66th minute, leaving Kaiserslautern in the top spot in the relegation zone, one point behind Mainz and Wolfsburg.

Arminia Bielefeld - Nürnberg 0-0

Despite scoring ten goals in their last three games, Nürnberg were held to a goalless draw away to Arminia Bielefeld on Sunday.

Both sides are four points clear of the relegation zone with seven matches left to play in the Bundesliga season.
