Scotland: Hearts draw with Rangers

EDINBURGH, Mar 19 (SW) - Hearts and Rangers held each other to a 1-1 draw on Sunday, due to which the 'Gers' fail to close in on the second place in the Scottish league.

Saturday:

Kilmarnock - Falkirk 2-1

Less than three minutes had been played when Danny Invincibile opened the score for Kilmarnock, but the visitors levelled through Daniel McBreen in the 19th. The winning goal was for the home side however, and was scored by Steven Naismith in the 74th minute.

Motherwell - Hibernian 2-2

Phil O'Donnell's opening goal for Motherwell in the 40th minute was cancelled out by Christopher Killen in the 48th minute, and 'Hibs' even took the lead through Stephen Glass in the 78th. The hosts did manage to secure a point however, as Stephen Craigan netted for 2-2 in added time.

Aberdeen - Livingston 3-0

Aberdeen had a relatively easy win over last-placed Livingston. Russell Anderson broke the deadlock after seventeen minutes, and a second goal was added by Steve Lovell in the 63rd. A third and last goal came from Ferne Snoyl in the 81st minute.

Sunday:

Hearts - Rangers 1-1

Hearts, second in the Scottish Premiership, hosted third-placed Rangers and needed just nine minutes to take the lead through Edgaras Jankauskas. Rangers levelled however, through Belgian Thomas Buffel in the 65th minute.

Note: Celtic will host Inverness on Wednesday.
