RIO DE JANEIRO, July 24 (SW) - Corinthians starlet Carlos Tevez has criticized his club’s fans, adding fuel to rumors that the Argentina international is bound for Europe.

Tevez, playing in his first match since the World Cup, came off the bench to salvage a 2-2 draw at home to Fortaleza.

The Argentinean celebrated the second-half goal by racing towards Corinthians’ fans with a finger raised to his lips.

"Myself and my team-mates won the Brazilian championship last year but if we lose one game, they start insulting us," he said, explaining his actions after the match.

"But that's Corinthians."

The gesture comes after Tevez was controversially allowed to miss last week’s derby with Palmerias. The club’s hard-core supporters were angered by the move, especially as Palmerias won 1-0, dooming Corinthians to its sixth successive defeat.

Corinthians, the richest club in Brazil, find themselves at the very end of the Brazilian top-flight with just 10 points from 13 matches.
