FLORENCE, Feb 8 (SW) - Juventus were held to a disappointing home draw against Parma, but they managed to extend their lead as Inter Milan fell to defeat at Fiorentina. AC Milan, meanwhile, thrashed Treviso at the San Siro.

Fiorentina - Inter Milan 2-1

La Viola went in front just ten minutes into the action as Cristian Brocchi found the back of the net, and Luis Jimenez looked to have give the home side a sure-fire victory on the hour mark when he made it 2-0.

Uruguayan striker Alvaro Recoba pulled a goal back for Inter six minutes from time to make the end a bit nervous for the home supporters, but Cesare Prandelli's men escaped with a nice win.

Juventus - Parma 1-1

It was quite nervous times also at the Stadio Delle Alpi as Juventus found themselves down a goal in the 39th minute as Daniele Dessena gave Parma a shock lead.

Parity was justly restored before the half-time whistle as Zlatan Ibrahimovic found the back of the net for Juve to make it 1-1.

Parma, who sit level on points with Empoli in 18th place in the relegation zone, finished the match with ten men after Bernardo Corradi got his second yellow card within the match's last eight minutes.

AC Milan - Treviso 5-0

Treviso sit second from the bottom and looked the part on Wednesday as they were hammered at the San Siro by a fierce AC Milan attack.

Brazilian playmaker Kaká fired Milan into the lead on 14 minutes and Treviso hung in the game after that, but the second half was different story, indeed.

Andriy Shevchenko made it 2-0 to the Rossoneri on 53 minutes before Alberto Gilardino made it three to the home side in the 62nd minute.

Shevchenko's second goal three minutes later and a further striker from verteran Filippo Inzgahi piled the misery on lowly Treviso.

Roma - Cagliari 4-3

Roma, serving their one-match home ban by playing at the Centro d'Italia stadium in Rieti, played out a thriller before coming out winners over relegation candidates Cagliari.

With no fans to be found at the stadium, Cagliari jumped out to an early two-goal lead through David Suazo and Antonio Langella, but Simone Perrotta and Daniele De Rossi pulled Roma level at the 35 minute mark.

Cagliari went to the break on a sour note as Joe Bizera was sent off just before the interval, but Daniele Conti put them into the lead ten minutes after the restart.

Cesare Bovo was sent off for Roma for his second yellow card in the 76th minute, but Francesco Totti's penalty three minutes later leveled the match, and he struck the winner late on again from the spot to snatch full points.

Palermo - Lazio 3-1

Nicolás González fired the Sicilians into the lead on 12 minutes and it stayed that way until Giovanni Tedesco doubled the advantage on 56 minutes.

Five minutes later, Valon Behrami was sent off for Lazio before Andrea Caracciolo made it 3-0 to the home side in the 65th minute. Manuel Belleri got a consolation for the shorthanded visitors six minutes from time.

Udinese - Reggina 1-2

Reggina got a big win as they look to steer clear of the relegation zone, but it was Udinese who jumped out to a lead on the quarter-hour through striker Vincenzo Iaquinta.

Nicola Amoruso pulled Reggina on level terms five minutes before half-time and then sealed the match for the visitors with his second goal in the 61st minute.

Lecce - Empoli 1-2

Empoli remain in the bottom three of Serie A, but only barely after they compounded bottom side Lecce's struggles with a win at the Via del Mare.

Sergio Almirón put Empoli ahead just three minutes in before Francesco Tavano's penalty extended their advantage to 2-0 four minutes before half-time.

Cristian Ledesma's penalty ten minutes from time was mere consolation for Lecce who have just nine points in 12 home matches this season.

Chievo - Sampdoria 1-1

The Genoa side took the lead on the half-hour mark through Vitali Kutuzov as Sampdoria looked to round out their shaky form, but Gianluca Scurto pulled Chievo level in the 61st minute to restore hope for the home side.

Even despite the dismissal of Sampdoria's Mark Iuliano 12 minutes from time, Chievo couldn't muster up a winner and settled for the stalemate.

Ascoli - Livorno 0-0

Livorno still sit in sixth place but ran into a tough road test away to Ascoli where they were held goalless on Wednesday.

Ascoli have lost only two of their 13 home matches this season, including the two played away from the Cino e Lillo Del Luca. Livorno, meanwhile, are without a win in their last six Serie A fixtures.

Messina - Siena 0-0

The result was the same in Sicily as Messina and Siena, both of whom are still not out of danger for relegation, couldn't hit the back of the net.

Messina, much like Lecce, have just two home victories this season while Siena have just one win in 14 league games.
