MILAN, Dec 3 (SW) – Inter goalkeeper Julio Cesar is certain that his recent penalty save was vitally important to his teams Serie A title hopes.
Inter lead 1-0 when the Brazilian saved Mario Frick’s penalty and on loan striker Hernan Crespo soon scored a second to give Milan the victory over Siena.
“It was important to stop that spot-kick, because it was a delicate moment of the match and we only had a one-goal advantage, so my save was both decisive and great,” said Cesar.
“I hope this save will help us win the Scudetto. It’s a victory that gives further confidence to a team that is already brimming with it. Other sides will respect us even more now.”
