RIO DE JANEIRO, Sep 9 (SW) – Corinthians’ Argentine striker Carlos Tevez caused an uproar at a news conference by wearing a Manchester United shirt.

Tevez, formerly of Boca Juniors, has expressed his wishes to leave the club despite only signing for the Brazilian outfit seven months ago. The player feels that he is being harshly treated by his opponents and match officials purely due to his nationality.

After repeatedly commenting that he was unhappy in Brazil, Tevez went one step further by wearing the United colours in public. When asked about the jersey, he replied: "What I get from Nike [the United shirt] I use, I do not see any problem."

"I'm thinking of leaving Corinthians," he added.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovic is known to have strong links with the MSI group, who own Corinthians, and is one of a number of people who are reportedly interested in signing the striker.
