STRASBOURG, Nov 7 (SW) – Manager Jacky Dugueperoux’ days at the helm of Strasbourg could well be brought to an end shortly, after his side yet again failed to collect a win at the weekend.
The Alsatians have failed to collect one single win this season (in 14 games) and are currently lying bottom of the French Ligue 1 table, with a mere 6 points. Needless to say manager Jacky Dugueperoux is currently walking on thin ice, the French tactician having little time to get things right.
Time could well have run out for the Strasbourg boss, as club chairman Egon Gindorf has announced he would make up his mind during the week, and potentially proceed with vital changes within the club. But his task is not likely to be an easy one, Strasbourg and their tactician having shown a very different face in the French side’s European campaign.
The club might have failed to clinch a single win in 14 games in the French league, but with two wins in two games in this year’s UEFA Cup competition, the Alsatians are currently top of their UEFA Cup Group E, ahead of the likes of Swiss champions Basel and Italian outfit AS Roma.
Time might have come for Gindorf to make drastic changes within the club, but the Alsatians will certainly be hoping those changes do not disrupt the side’s good European campaign form.
