STRASBOURG/BELGRADE, Nov 3 (SW) - Strasbourg defeated Tromso to take the first position in Group E of the UEFA Cup, while Basel achieved a valuable win at Red Star.

Strasbourg - Tromso 2-0

Strasbourg won their second match in a row, at home against Norwegian side Tromso. Mickael Pagis opened the score after 38 minutes and Salim Arrache doubled the French lead in the 66th.

Red Star Belgrade - Basel 1-2

Red Star took the lead with a goal from Milan Purovic in the 25th minute, but Matias Emilio Delgado levelled from the penalty spot on the half hour mark. With two minutes left to play in regular time, Julio Hernan Rossi netted the decisive goal in Basel's favour.
