DUNDEE, Jul 26 (SW) - Dundee has had their relegation from the Scottish Premier League confirmed after the Scottish Football Association (SFA) upheld a decision involving fellow strugglers Livingston.

A Scottish Premier League board found Livingston guilty of having signed Moroccan Hassan Kachloul on an amateur agreement outside the January transfer window, only to subsequently find that the player was paid. The Premier League decided to fine the club, rather than dock points, much to the anger of the Dark Blues.

Dundee decided to appeal the decision, hoping that a points deduction would allow them to leapfrog Livingston into Premier League safety. The decision of the SFA is that the fine will remain without any further consequences, confirming Dundee’s relegation.

Ironically, Dundee drew 1-1 away to Livingston on the final day of last season.
