KETTERING, Dec 5 (SW) - English legend Paul Gascoigne was sacked on Monday as manager of non-league side Kettering Town, just 39 days after he took over the club although Gazza has stated his intentions of buying the club.

The 38-year-old Gascoigne has denied reports suggested he was let go by Kettering chairman Imraan Ladak because he had begun drinking again, although Ladak claims Gazza's behavior was the primary reason for his sacking.

"I spoke to Paul on Sunday and that was a result of 37 separate incidents I have had to deal with since appointing him as manager," said Ladak of the situation.

Gascoigne, though, is not ready to give up completely on the Conference North side, stating that he wants to buy the club, although Ladak insists he will not sell

Ex-Kettering manager Kevin Wilson will take over as manager of the club with immediate effect.
