Italy: Internazionale and Milan win in Serie A

REGGIO CALABRIA, Dec 18 (SW) - Internazionale easily defeated Reggina to maintain their second place in the Italian Serie A, while AC Milan were just as convincing against Messina.

Reggina - Internazionale 0-4

Ivan Ramiro Cordoba put Internazionale in the lead in the second minute, and the Nigerian Obafemi Martins added another in the 15th. The Brazilian striker Adriano got his side's third in the 40th minute and a fourth came from David Pizarro in stoppage time.

AC Milan - Messina 4-0

Andrey Shevchenko gave AC Milan a secure lead with goals in the 22nd and 47th minute, of which the same came from the penalty spot. Andrea Pirlo added another in the 83rd minute and the fourth and last goal came from Gilardino in the 85th.

Empoli - Fiorentina 1-1

Empoli and Fiorentina held each other to a draw, with the visitors taking the lead with a goal from Giampaolo Pazzini in the 70th minute, and Empoli levelling through Ighli Vannucchi in the 73rd.

Palermo - Livorno 0-2

Marc Pfertzel put the visitors in the lead after 67th minute, and a second goal came from Morrone in injury time.

Chievo Verona - Udinese 2-0

Chievo Verona were the stronger side against Udinese, and took the lead through Simone Tiribocchi in the 34th minute. Victor Obinna converted a penalty for 2-0 in the 64th.

Sampdoria - AS Roma 1-1

AS Roma broke the deadlock with a goal from captain Francesco Totti in the 15th minute, but Francesco Flachi converted a penalty to level the score in the 56th.

Siena - Parma 2-2

Bernardo Corradi put Parma in the lead after 47 minutes, but things were turned around by Tomas Locatelli in the 52nd minute and Enrico Chiesa in the 77th. Daniele Dessena eventually levelled the score in stoppage time.

Cagliari - Ascoli 2-1

Cagliari took a comfortable lead with goals from Mauro Esposito in the 8th minute and David Suazo (penalty) in the 26th. Ascoli's only goal came from Mattia Biso in the 55th minute.
