DORTMUND, Dec 17 (SW) - Bayern Munich defeated Borussia Dortmund 1-2 to extend their lead in the Bundesliga, while Schalke crashed to a 2-0 defeat by Stuttgart.

Borussia Dortmund - Bayern Munich 1-2

The last two German teams to have won a European competition faced each other in Dortmund for what would have been a top-of-the-table clash a few years ago.

Bayern broke the deadlock with a goal from Karimi in the 53rd minute, and the same player also added a second twenty minutes later. Borussia got one back through Kringe in the 79th minute.

VfB Stuttgart - Schalke 04 2-0

Another top fixture was the match between Stuttgart and Schalke. Three minutes had passed in the second half when the hosts took the lead through Gomez, and the decision came from Ljuboja in the 66th. Schalke's Bajramovic was handed a second yellow card in the 77th minute.

Borussia M'gladbach - Eintracht Frankfurt 4-3

Two goals from Copado, in the 16th and 22nd minutes had given Eintracht a secure lead, but Mönchengladbach came back through Jansen in the 45th and Neuville in the 77th.

Neuville then went on to even put the hosts ahead with his second goal in the 82nd minute, and Sverkos added another six minutes later. Chris got a consolation goal for the visiting side in stoppage time, 4-3.

Bayer Leverkusen - Hannover 96 0-0

Bayer Leverkusen continue to be one of the most disappointing teams in the Bundesliga this year. Their home match with Hannover 96 ended with a scoreless result.

Arminia Bielefeld - FC Cologne 3-2

More goals were scored at Arminia versus Cologne, where the guests took the lead through Springer in the very first minute. However, an Arminia storm completely changed things with goals from Kobylik in the 52nd minute and Fink in the 54th and 59th. Scherz scored one back for Cologne in the 72nd minute but his team could not score an equalizer.

Kaierslautern - VfL Wolfsburg 3-2

Striker Altintop once again proved his value for Kaiserslautern, scoring three goals for his side against VfL Wolfsburg, in the 45th, 61st and 83rd minutes. The visitors scored through Klimowicz in the 47th minute and Hanke in the 54th.

Mainz - Duisburg 1-1

Da Silva put Mainz in the lead when 27 minutes had been played, but Möhrle levelled the score for Duisburg in the 86th minute.
