DORTMUND, Dec 14 (SW) - Still in the process of reviving their once-proud club, German outfit Borussia Dortmund signed Ghana striker Matthew Amoah from Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem with the deal set to take effect in January.

Amoah, 25, currently leads Vitesse in scoring with seven goals and has agreed to a two-year deal at the Westfalenstadion where he will be re-united with coach Bert van Marwijk. Amoah played under van Maarwijk at Fortuna Sittard in 1999/2000.

Dortmund, who sit eighth in the Bundesliga table on 21 points, are currently led in scoring by Polish international Ebi Smolarek who has accounted for half of the team's 22 goals. Van Marwijk had been wanting another consistent goal-scoring option and apparently he got the man he wanted.

Amoah, who is likely to be in Ghana's team for the World Cup finals next summer, played in five of his team's qualifiers and scored four goals.
