FIRENZE, Dec 10 (SW) - Fiorentina defeated Treviso to move into second place in the Italian Serie A, while Siena beat Empoli in a mid-table clash on Saturday.

Fiorentina - Treviso 1-0

One goal was enough for Fiorentina to take three points against last-placed Treviso. The decision came from Stefano Fiore in the 52nd minute. His side now takes the second place in the Serie A, although this could change after the Milan derby on Sunday.

Siena - Empoli 1-0

Less than two minutes had been played when Siena took the lead with a goal from Erjon Bogdani. Empoli failed to score an equalizer, and allow the hosts to win 1-0.
