MILAN, Aug 9 (SW) - Brazilian international Cicinho has rejected reports of an imminent move to Serie A after being spotted in Italy over recent days.
Denying that he was in the country to sign a deal with AC Milan, the Sao Paulo right back declared that he was only making a fleeting visit in order to pick up his newly acquired Italian passport.
"I am very happy at my club and at the moment I do not want to change teams,” insisted the Brazilian.
"I want to remain with Sao Paulo until the World Cup in Germany in 2006. I do not know if I will remain until the term of my contract (which runs through to 2008) or if I will leave before then. My trip to Italy is only for bureaucratic issues."
Cicinho is considered the long-term successor to Cafu in the Brazilian national team, prompting suggestions that he could also replace his compatriot at the Rossoneri.
